Frequently Asked Quections

You will be entering an aquatic environment and going to cool places, such as the local springs, coral reefs and more. Comfort in the water is a must for enjoyable, not to mention safe, scuba diving. So, yes, you do need to know how to swim in order to be a competent scuba diver. You do not need to be a Masters Competitive swimmer, just the basics.
We have been teaching scuba divers, of all levels for over 37 years and teaching the beginner Open Water Scuba Diver course is still my favorite! The list of available courses is quite lengthy – Open Water Scuba Diver, Advanced Scuba Diver, Master Scuba Diver, Nitrox and Rescue Diver are the core courses.
We also teach a number of Specialty Courses – Wreck diver, Drysuit Diver, Deep diver, Night diver, Training Assistant, NAUI Recreational Equipment Configuration and more.
As a Course Director, we can offer a full complement of Leadership Courses – Assistant Instructor, Divemaster, Instructor, Instructor Trainer and facilitate crossovers from other agencies.
First Aid, CPR, AED and Oxygen Provider can be offered as stand alone courses or as part of Rescue Diver or Leadership training.
Technical Diving course are also available as your skills and experience progress with the Introduction to Technical Diving and Decompression Techniques
Most students complete the course in 3–4 days, but we customize the pace to your schedule and comfort level. If you need more time to gain confidence and mastery in the water we will gladly work with you! Repetition is the mother of skill.
We provide all the basic scuba gear for training. As you progress, we’ll guide you in selecting quality equipment that fits your needs and budget. For the class itself you will need to provide your own personal equipment; mask, snorkel, fins, booties, logbook and SMB. We also recommend a mesh gear bag and wetsuit at this time.
If you already own some of your own kit, great, but please bring it in during your class orientation. During this we teach you all about proper fitting, selection, desired features and care and you will be able to evaluate your own gear! We will help of course.
Please don’t make any purchases prior to meeting with us, one of our goals is to teach you how to do that properly so you do not waste time and money, get professional fitted and have the right gear that meets your needs.
Everything we do is personalized to YOU! Your schedule, your needs and your goals. We give you personalized attention and adapt to your learning style.
Yes, scuba diving is very safe when trained properly. We emphasize mastery of skills, safety procedures, and building your confidence at your own pace.
We have our own private pool that handles a lot of our training and we use local springs to review skills and do the open water dives. The warm Florida seas are a short drive away.
That’s common! We specialize in helping new or returning divers build comfort and confidence. We’ll take extra time, adjust training, and never rush you.
We strongly recommend a refresher if you haven’t been diving in more than a year or so, so that when the time comes to gear up and jump in the water, the muscle memory is automatic and you’re feeling confident.
If it has been a significant time since you dove, many find taking the class all over again to be helpful and lots of fun. A lot changes over years.
